Regional education centres in Lower Saxony
The mission of the Regional Education Centres (LBZ) for the Hearing Impaired and the Regional Education Centre for the Blind is social and occupational integration for people with a sensory impairment. To this end, in addition to fulfilling the school's educational mission, a social facility with individually differentiated educational and social offers is provided.
In the Regional Education Centres for the Hearing Impaired and the Blind, you will find the following departments:

> at the LBZ for the Blind: Early Intervention, Functional Vision Diagnosis And Aids Advice, Media Centre And Accompanying Services And The Specialist Services For School Inclusion
- Mainstream school, years 1 - 10, with residential provision (except Hildesheim) as well as the special school for mental development with a special focus on vision.
- Vocational schools in Hanover, Osnabrück and Hildesheim with residential provision
- Vocational rehabilitation in Hanover and Hildesheim with residential provision
It is the aim of the Regional Education Centres for the Hearing Impaired to integrate all hearing-impaired people into the world of mainstream communication as early and as optimally as possible.
The Regional Education Centre for the Blind has a state-wide mandate for the support, education, training and vocational rehabilitation of people with blindness or profound visual impairment in Lower Saxony.
It is the aim of all regional education centres to enable the earliest possible social and educational participation of people with visual impairments, blindness or hearing impairments on an inpatient or inclusive basis.
